Our Cat
Our Cat was rescued by a neighbor who needed another home for (we
thought) "her". For two years in bliss we let her come and go on our
cul-de-sac property. One day we had to call her for dinner because she
hadn't been around all day. Very unusual. She limped in for the first time ever
and didn't want the food. Something was wrong and when we took her to the
vet, they suggested we leave her. We were shocked when he called at 10
P.M. saying he'd pulled out a foxtail weed from her- oops- HIS-- penis. The
vet wanted to keep him overnight to make sure of recovery, but several
hours later called to say he passed away. My husband and I blamed
ourselves for not insisting he come home with us, because he only knew how
to urinate outside. Maybe his kidneys just gave out. He was our first pet
together and we were very lonely for him for a long time. Painting him helped
me. 8" X 5" watercolor Original
